I only sat on the DOD Have a Nice Sofa on display in a store for about 3 minutes, and I have not bought it. I have not used it at camp, so I cannot write setup times or how long I sat. I only looked at the Nice Middle Chair and the Good Luck Bench in a store.
From sitting on it in the store, two people fit comfortably and the deep backrest was nice. It sinks deeply, so standing up took a little effort. Compared with Helinox chairs, it sits deep and looked heavy to carry, so I felt it is a chair meant to be carried by car. I wavered between comfort and weight, and I have no deciding reason yet; I will judge after actually using it. My rule for choosing is whether you can carry it by car. In short, it is a candidate for families who drive, and a solo camper who wants to carry less should pick another type.

DOD Haba Nice Sofa review: how I judged it
The first thing I looked at was the per-seat numbers. 15,400 yen divided by 2 is 7,700 yen a seat, and 8 kg divided by 2 is about 4 kg a seat. The Nice Middle Chair that came out the same autumn is 8,800 yen and about 4.1 kg each, so two of them cost 17,600 yen and weigh about 8.2 kg. By that math the sofa is 2,200 yen cheaper and slightly lighter (17,600 − 15,400).
What I hesitated over was the packed size. Folded it is W24 x D54 x H72 cm, which works out to about 93 L (24 x 54 x 72 ÷ 1,000). The Nice Middle Chair is about 19.9 L, so two come to about 40 L. The slim fold is meant to stand upright, so it is a poor fit if you want to lay it flat and tuck it into gaps. I still recommend it because it keeps the 35 cm seat for two people side by side and even comes with side tables.

The seat height is about 35 cm on both the sofa and the chair, so they line up side by side. Load capacity is 200 kg for the whole sofa and 5 kg for the side tables. 200 kg divided by 8 kg means it is rated for 25 times its own weight.
Width per person is about 106 cm divided by 2, or 53 cm. That is almost the same as one Nice Middle Chair (about 55 cm). Where two separate chairs would leave a gap, the sofa joins them into one seat. If you use it alone, the Nice Middle Chair review fits better because it is easier to place.

The sofa matches the Nice Middle Chair in design. They share the seat height (about 35 cm), the fabric (a double layer of 300D polyester outside and 600D polyester inside), the steel frame, and the natural-wood armrests. If you already own one chair, adding the sofa keeps the look consistent.
The difference is how they fold and how big they are. The sofa shrinks sideways like an accordion and packs to W24 x D54 x H72 cm. The chair packs to about 71 x 14 x 20 cm. The folded shapes differ, so choose by the shape of your cargo area.
What I like
Its biggest strength is that it seats two at about 8 kg. When I carry it, though, what I notice is the weight of about 8 kg in my hands, more than the slim packed size.
The side table is another strength. Open, it is about 160 cm wide, so a drink or phone sits within reach while you sit. Setup is just unfolding it sideways, and DOD's product page says one person can assemble it.

Things to watch
The cover cannot be removed and washed. If it gets dirty, wipe it with a well-wrung cloth and dry it thoroughly. Polyester fabric can burn through from sparks, and DOD suggests hanging a flame-retardant blanket over the back when sitting by a fire.
The static load capacity of a side table is 5 kg. It is meant for drinks and light snacks, not heavy pots. Putting your weight on the table with your hand when you stand up is also outside what the figure assumes.
Who the Haba Nice Sofa suits
It suits family and friends who go car camping and sit side by side for long stretches in the evening. At 7,700 yen and about 4 kg per 1 seat, it is cheaper and lighter than 2 chairs, and the seat height matches.
Here is how I decide. If your family or friends sit side by side for long stretches, take the sofa. If each person wants to move to their own spot, take two chairs. Then check how much loading room you have.
For a family of three or more, one sofa plus extra chairs is the realistic combination. If you want to move each seat wherever you like, or carry it on your back, a chair or a lighter model suits better. For the table, a low top that goes with a 35 cm seat is the calm choice. The Osamary Table L changes height in four steps: 38, 56, 64 and 82 cm.
Price and how to buy
The reference price is 15,400 yen including tax. On October 30, the DOD official store showed no color available to buy and pointed to retailers instead. On Rakuten Ichiba, the genuine beige (CS2-248-BG) is listed.
Divide the price by the number of uses and it gets small. If you camp 10 times a year, that is 1,540 yen per trip (15,400 ÷ 10), or 770 yen per person for two. If you can't decide: for family and friends who sit side by side for long stretches, take this sofa over two Nice Middle Chairs. It costs 2,200 yen less for two people, the seat height and fabric match, and when I sat on one in a store, two people fit comfortably.
