Will two electric blankets be enough on a winter camping trip? This is for you if you are unsure. The Anker Solix S2000 is a 2,010 Wh portable power station that went on sale on September 23, 2026. It costs JPY 199,900 including tax, weighs about 16.2 kg, and has a rated output of 1500 W. It is about 36% smaller and about 14% lighter than the earlier C2000 Gen 2. One unit is enough for an overnight camp with electric blankets and cooking appliances. I borrowed it at Fumotoppara in October 2026 and ran two electric blankets (50 W) for 9 hours and an electric kettle (1000 W) twice, and the charge went from 100% to 45%. When I used the blankets and the kettle together, the breaker protection kicked in and it stopped, so I now use up the kettle first.

The Gear Nerd's Pick

Spend more than half the year camping and your power station makes a round trip between car and site every time. So I look at Wh per 1kg before capacity. The S2000 packs 2010Wh into 16.2kg, about 124Wh per kg, well above the roughly 96.6Wh of the 1000 New V3 I picked in the 1000Wh class. If you are torn in the 2000Wh class, take this one.

My experience: borrowed at Fumotoppara, two electric blankets and a kettle for one night

I borrowed the S2000 at Fumotoppara in October 2026 with one friend. It was a one-night stay for two adults, with setup in 5 minutes and pack-up in 5 minutes, cable tidying included.

I plugged in two 50 W electric blankets for 9 hours, a 1000 W electric kettle for 5 minutes twice, and charged two phones. The charge went from 100% to 55%, then 47%, then 45%, so 45% was left after the night. Two 50 W blankets for 9 hours is 900 Wh, about 45% of the 2010 Wh capacity (900 ÷ 2010), which matches the drop. My earlier 500 Wh-class unit once ran out in the middle of the night with an electric blanket, so I was glad to have the spare capacity.

My mistake was using the electric blanket and the kettle at the same time. The breaker protection kicked in and shut it off, so I used up the kettle first and then turned the blanket back on. Since then I split the kettle into two uses, one before dinner and one in the morning.

The weight is the official figure of about 16.2 kg. I carried it about 80 m from the parking lot to the site in two trips, with a friend and a cart. With the cables and the bag on a bathroom scale, it read about 19 kg. I load it at the back of the cargo area and avoid putting other luggage on top.

Charging from 0 to 100% on a home outlet took about 2 hours 10 minutes, which felt about 10 minutes longer than the official time. I only touched a friend's C2000 Gen 2, and I have not used the 1000 New V3. In short, for an overnight stay for two with two electric blankets and a kettle, the S2000's capacity is enough.

Anker Solix S2000 review: how I judged it

The first thing I looked at was Wh per 1kg. 2010 ÷ 16.2 gives about 124Wh. The 1000 New V3, my pick in the 1000Wh class, comes to about 96.6Wh, so you carry about 28Wh more electricity per 1kg. That is a big gap.

Next, price. 199,900 ÷ 2010 gives about JPY 99 per 1Wh, cheaper than the roughly JPY 107 of the 1000 New V3. In the 2000Wh class, it beats it on both portability and price. That is strong.

What gave me pause was the weight. 16.2kg is about 1.5 times the 1000 New V3 (16.2 ÷ 10.6), and you cannot carry it in one hand. I still recommend it, because if you run an electric blanket and cooking appliances overnight, having enough capacity makes every decision easier. If you are torn, take the S2000. A buy.

Even on the night I actually used it, two of us ran an electric blanket and boiled water, and 45% was left. My reason did not change: spare capacity makes each decision easier.

How does it differ from the earlier C2000 Gen 2 and the 1000 New V3?

As shown on the Anker Japan official page on Oct 26, 2026, and the Jackery official page on Oct 18 (tax included). The divisions are my own calculation. Rated output is 1500W for both.

Capacity is about 2 times (2010 ÷ 1024) and price about 1.8 times (199,900 ÷ 109,800). The more capacity, the cheaper each 1Wh gets. An honest trend.

As for the earlier C2000 Gen 2, the gap is as Anker announced: about 36% smaller, about 14% lighter, and 1.5 times the cycles, at 6000.

How many hours can 2010Wh run?

A portable power station loses some electricity as heat when it converts DC to household AC. I take 80% of the displayed capacity as the usable amount. 2010 × 0.8 is about 1,608Wh.

  • An electric blanket drawing 50W: about 32 hours (1,608 ÷ 50)
  • An appliance drawing 100W: about 16 hours (1,608 ÷ 100)
  • An electric kettle drawing 1,000W: about 1.6 hours (1,608 ÷ 1,000)

In Anker's test, it runs a 500L-class refrigerator (30W on average) for about 50 hours. 30 × 50 is 1,500Wh, about 75% of capacity, close to the 80% rule of thumb. Real times change with temperature and use.

What stands out in the S2000's build

No. 1: AC outlets on both the front and the back. A first for an Anker power station. Even stacked in a trunk with the back to the wall, you can plug in from the front. A help.

No. 2: how little it loses on standby. OptiSave cuts idle discharge from 20W to 6W. For anyone who wants power left when they reach the campsite, it is quietly welcome.

No. 3: charging speed. In the app's ultra-fast mode, 0% to full in as little as about 108 minutes. Fast. The USB-C port gives up to 100W, enough to charge a laptop.

The battery is lithium iron phosphate, rated for 6000 cycles (to 80% of initial capacity). Anker says it lasts 15 years or more at one cycle a day. Long. The warranty is 18 months, extended to 5 years by registering as a member of the Anker Japan official store.

What I like

What I like is the balance of capacity and portability. It is about 36% smaller and about 14% lighter than the earlier C2000 Gen 2. 16.2kg ÷ 0.86 means the earlier model was about 18.8kg.

Things to watch

What is so-so is that output tops out at 1500W. Both single and multiple ports are 1500W, so appliances over 1500W will not run. Accept that. Running a hair dryer and an electric kettle at the same time calls for a different choice.

In fact, when I used the electric blankets and the kettle together, the breaker protection kicked in. I now cut down on what I run at the same time and use up the kettle first. The 16.2 kg is heavy and I needed a cart. Now I keep a cart in the car.

For lithium-ion battery products, follow the instruction manual and NITE's warnings: do not leave it in a hot car, and avoid strong impacts.

Who is it for?

It suits best families who use electric blankets and cooking appliances overnight and also want it for home blackouts. If phones and a lantern are the main load, you can start from the smaller 500Wh class.

To line it up against other units, see the 6-unit portable power station ranking. For the 1000Wh class, see the 1000 New V3 review; for an expandable 1000Wh, the 1000 Plus V2 review.

Price and how to buy

The price is in the table above. Use it 20 nights a year for 10 years and that is 200 nights, about JPY 1,000 per 1 night (199,900 ÷ 200). It is sold on Rakuten Ichiba, Amazon, the Anker official store and more.

How this article was made

This article is built from my record of one night with the S2000 and a comparison table I calculated myself from official numbers. I only touched a friend's C2000 Gen 2 and have not used the 1000 New V3, so for those two I compared official numbers only.
