Can 1,000 Wh get you through a winter night? This is for you if you are unsure. The Jackery Portable Power Station 1000 Plus V2 is an expandable 1,024 Wh unit that went on sale on August 20, 2026. It costs JPY 168,000 including tax and weighs about 10.8 kg. It is 3.7 kg lighter than the earlier 1000 Plus, and connecting five expansion batteries raises it to up to 11 kWh. It is one unit for people who use it both for camping and for home blackouts. I borrowed it at Asagiri in September 2026 and ran an electric blanket (60 W) for 8 hours and an electric kettle (1000 W) twice, and the charge went from 100% to 40%. On a bathroom scale it read 10.9 kg, I could carry it about 50 m from the parking lot to the site in one trip, and it is much easier on my back than the roughly 16 kg unit I used before.
The Gear Nerd's Pick
Spend more than half the year camping and your power station becomes something you load and unload from the trunk every time. So I choose one that is light at camp and can grow at home. The 1000 Plus V2 is carryable at 10.8kg, and its 4 AC outlets split into important and general loads. For camping only, the cheaper 1000 New V3; if you also think about home blackouts, this one.

[New 08/20/2026]Jackery Portable Power Station 1000 Plus V2 Review | Release Date and an 11kWh Expansion Path on 1000Wh
I want one unit for both camping and home blackouts, but a heavy one is hard to carry, and I worry about running short of capacity. I answer that worry with measurements from the one I borrowed at Asagiri in September 2026.

My experience: borrowed at Asagiri, an electric blanket and a kettle for one night
I borrowed the 1000 Plus V2 for a one-night stay for two adults with one friend at Asagiri Jamboree Auto Campground in September 2026. Setup took 3 minutes and pack-up 3 minutes. On a bathroom scale it read 10.9 kg, 100 g heavier than the official figure of about 10.8 kg. I could carry it about 50 m from the parking lot to the site in one trip. It is easier to hold with one hand than the roughly 16 kg unit I used before, and my back is much less strained.
I plugged in a 60 W electric blanket for 8 hours, a 1000 W electric kettle for 3 minutes twice, and charged two phones. The charge went from 100% to 53%, then 43%, then 40%. A 60 W blanket for 8 hours is 480 Wh, about 47% of the 1024 Wh capacity (480 ÷ 1024), which matches the drop. I used the function that splits the four AC outlets into two circuits to keep the kettle and the blanket on separate circuits.
My mistake was using the kettle and the electric blanket at the same time, which left the output short. I now use the kettle until it is done and then switch on the blanket, and keep that order.
Charging from a household outlet took about 2 hours from 0 to 100%. I did not add an expansion battery, so it is still just the main unit when I carry it out. As a blackout backup, I only imagined it: my calculation was that it could run a 60 W fridge, a 10 W router and phone charging for about half a day. In real camping, I never ran short of capacity. I only touched the earlier 1000 Plus, and I have not used the 1000 New V3.
Jackery Portable Power Station 1000 Plus V2 review: how I judged it
The first thing I looked at was weight. I measured the gap to the earlier 1000 Plus. From 14.5kg to 10.8kg, 3.7kg lighter (14.5 − 10.8). A 1000Wh unit has come down to almost the same weight as the V3. Light.
Next, I compared it with Jackery's own 1000 New V3. The size is almost the same (313.5 × 201 × 233.5mm and 314 × 201 × 234mm), and capacity is also 1024Wh. The difference is price: the Plus V2 costs JPY 58,200 more (168,000 − 109,800). What that gap buys is 4 AC outlets and expansion. The gap is easy to weigh.
For camping only, I would choose the cheaper V3. If you also use it for home blackouts, the Plus V2. Being able to expand means peace of mind: you do not have to buy again when it later falls short. Big.

How does it differ from the earlier 1000 Plus?
| Item | 1000 Plus V2 | 1000 Plus |
|---|---|---|
| Release date | Aug 20, 2026 | ― |
| Price (incl. tax) | JPY 168,000 | JPY 168,000 |
| Capacity | 1,024Wh | 1,264Wh |
| Weight | 10.8kg | 14.5kg |
| AC output | 4 outlets · 1,800W total | 3 outlets · 2,000W total |
| Charge cycles | 6,000 cycles | 4,000 cycles |
| Expansion | Up to 11kWh | Up to 5kWh |
Capacity per 1kg is about 94.8Wh for the V2 (1024 ÷ 10.8) and about 87.2Wh for the earlier model (1264 ÷ 14.5). Being lighter makes it easier to carry. Simply good.
What does splitting the 4 AC outlets into 2 groups mean?
You can split the 4 AC outlets into two groups, "important load" and "general load", and switch each on and off separately. The use is simple. In a blackout, it runs the refrigerator and communication gear first and turns off what you do not need to save battery.
Switchover takes 10ms. That is UPS speed, protecting gear you never want to stop for an instant, like a desktop PC or Wi-Fi router; the earlier model's EPS took 20ms. It also guards against lightning surges up to 3000V. Reassuring.
USB-C went up to PD 140W (100W on the earlier model). It helps when you want to charge a laptop in a hurry. Plain, but helpful.
Compared with the 1000 New V3
| Item | Plus V2 | 1000 New V3 |
|---|---|---|
| Price (incl. tax) | JPY 168,000 | JPY 109,800 |
| Per Wh | 168,000 ÷ 1024 = about JPY 164 | 109,800 ÷ 1024 = about JPY 107 |
| AC output | 4 outlets · 1,800W total | 3 outlets · 1,500W |
| Weight | 10.8kg | About 10.6kg |
The price per 1Wh is about 1.5 times higher for the Plus V2 (164 ÷ 107). The question is whether you pay that gap for expansion and 4 AC outlets. If you only run an electric blanket at camp, the V3 is enough.

What I like
Carrying it, I moved 10.9 kg about 50 m in one trip. Coming down from a 16 kg-class unit, how much less strain it put on my lower back was the clearest benefit.
What I like is the pairing of light weight and expandability. It is carryable at 10.8kg, and when you fall short you can add expansion batteries. For a family that camps every year and also wants to prepare for winter blackouts, it is built to last.
Things to watch
When I used the kettle and the electric blanket together, the output ran short. If you decide the order of use beforehand, it will not shut off.
What is so-so is that capacity dropped by 240Wh from the earlier model (1264 − 1024). The price is the same JPY 168,000, so the price per 1Wh rose from about JPY 133 to about JPY 164. It is the trade for lightness. This part is so-so.
For lithium-ion battery products, follow the instruction manual and NITE's warnings: do not leave it in a hot car, and avoid strong impacts.
Who is it for?
It suits best people who want one unit for both camping and home blackouts. It also fits people who want to start with 1000Wh and expand if needed. If phones and a lantern are the main load, you can start from the 500Wh class.
For the bigger 2000Wh class, see the Anker Solix S2000 review; for a cheaper unit just for camping, the 1000 New V3 review; and for other units, the 6-unit portable power station ranking.
Three ways to choose: weight, appliances at once, blackout use
- 1. Can you carry it? About 10.8 kg (10.9 kg on my scale). I carried it from the parking lot to the site, about 50 m, in one trip. It is 3.7 kg lighter than the previous 1000 Plus at 14.5 kg.
- 2. Output when appliances run together. Running the 1000 W kettle and the electric blanket together exceeded the output. Decide the order in advance: finish with the kettle first, then switch the blanket on.
- 3. Will you use it for blackouts too? The 60 W electric blanket for 8 hours is 480 Wh, about 47% of the 1024 Wh capacity. For camping only, the 1000 New V3 is JPY 58,200 cheaper; if you want blackout cover too, take the Plus V2.
The takeaway: if one unit has to cover both camping and blackouts, take the Plus V2. Switching from a 16 kg-class unit took a lot of strain off my back, and that was the change I noticed most after buying.
Price and how to buy
The price is in the table above. Use it 20 nights a year for 5 years and that is 100 nights, JPY 1,680 per 1 night (168,000 ÷ 100). It is a limited-channel model sold mainly at electronics retailers, and it is also sold at shops on Rakuten Ichiba.
