Choose a chair by how long you sit in it. A chair you carry on foot gets a few minutes of rest. A chair you carry by car holds you for an hour or two after dinner. The longer you sit, the more the seat and the arms matter compared with weight. So for a first chair, I put the Noga Chair first, because it balances weight and comfort.

The Helinox Chair Zero LT weighs 494g and the LOGOS Cloud Nest Chair about 3.7kg. Both are 2026 releases, and they differ by about 7.5 times (3,700 ÷ 494). "It's new, so it's good" is not a way to choose.
For a first chair, #1 is the Snow Peak Noga Chair. If you want to cut weight, get the Chair Zero LT; if you want to lean your head back, the Cloud Nest Chair. I ranked 2026 releases you can buy on Rakuten.
How I chose
I looked at three things: how you carry it (weight and packed size), how you sit (seat height and backrest), and price. Last, I divided by weight to get price per gram and lined them up.
When you spend more than half the year camping, a chair holds you longest of all your gear, at the fire and at the table. So I don't rank by weight alone.

#1 Snow Peak Noga Chair | 1.4kg With Cushioned Arms
I'll say it with some heat. This is the first joint chair from Snow Peak and Helinox, built on the Chair One frame. It is 507g heavier than the Chair One (1,400 − 893), and in return the frame is thicker, the seat is wider, and the places your elbows rest have cushions. Just having somewhere to put your arms changes how you sit.
The carry bag is attached to the seat and becomes a pocket while you sit. Mesh pockets on both sides hold bottles. The longer you sit by the fire at night, the more this matters. If you can't decide, get this one.
This is a weak point. At JPY 22,000 it costs JPY 6,200 more than the Chair One (JPY 15,800), and packs to about 6.4L, about 1.5 times the Chair One. If you often travel by train or bike, check the packed length in my Noga Chair review.
#2 Helinox Chair Zero LT | 494g, Helinox's First Under 500g
If you want light, this is it. It went on sale in May 2026 at 494g, with a 120kg load capacity and a 28cm seat. It trims 15g from the old Chair Zero (509g, JPY 18,500) and comes with a ground strap so the legs don't sink in soft ground. Load capacity per weight is about 243 times (120 ÷ 0.494), the best of the 5.
This is a weak point. It costs JPY 5,000 more than the old Chair Zero, so you pay about JPY 333 per gram for the 15g saved (5,000 ÷ 15). It is a chair for people who walk from the car park to the site or carry gear to a mountain or island. More in my Chair Zero LT review.

#3 LOGOS Cloud Nest Chair | A High Back That Holds Your Head
Pick this if the small details of relaxing matter. It is a 2027 model released Aug 27, 2026, with a 37cm seat, about 3.7kg and a load capacity of about 100kg. Even with a high back that holds your head, it packs to 14×20×51cm (about 14.3L). It has a slash pocket on the right, a small-items pocket on the left and a cup holder that stands straight.
This is a weak point. Its load capacity is about 27 times its weight (100 ÷ 3.7), on the low side among the 5. In use it is 89cm wide and 104cm deep, so measure a small tent's vestibule first. LOGOS Cloud Nest Chair

#4 DOD Nice Middle Chair | 130kg Load Capacity for JPY 8,800
Pick this for low price and headroom. The seat is about 35cm, with a backrest and armrests, and a support frame at the back keeps your seat from sinking. Its 130kg load capacity is about 32 times its weight, more room than the Cloud Nest Chair's 27 times.
This is a weak point. At about 4.1kg it is about 4.6 times the Chair One, and it packs to 71×14×20cm (about 19.9L), which is not small. The polyester fabric can get holes from sparks, so near a fire, hang a flame-retardant blanket over the back. It is a first chair for people who carry by car. #5 Hilander X-FRAME COMPACT CHAIR HIGH | 51cm Seat
Pick this as a dining chair. The seat is about 51cm, 9.5cm higher than the low type, with a load capacity of about 150kg and a weight of about 1.4kg including the bag. It packs to about 42.5×16×12cm, about 8.2L. At JPY 10,900, it sits taller than the other four.
This is a weak point. The seat is high, so your hips float up at a fire pit or a low table. Pair it with the same series' tall table (63cm high) for meals at a 60 to 70cm table.

The Chair One has no armrests. The Noga Chair adds cushioned elbow rests to that frame, so your arms have a place to go. The longer you sit, the more this part is worth.
If you only sit for a few minutes of rest, the 494g Chair Zero LT is enough. It's not about which is better; choose by sitting time multiplied by carrying distance.

Who is it for?
This is best for someone who wants to settle on a first chair from the 2026 releases. Choose the Noga Chair for both car and foot, the 494g Chair Zero LT for lightness, and the Cloud Nest Chair if you want to lean your head back.
