The LOGOS Yaden Thunder Lantern is a rechargeable lantern worth buying if you want to dim a warm light to the brightness you like and keep it on long on the table. Released Aug 27, 2026 at JPY 6,600 incl. tax, its 2600mAh battery is 30% larger than the same Yaden line's Hang Gauge Lantern. A warm light that stops where you stop the dial is built for easing through the time after dinner.
The Gear Nerd's Pick
Brightness is a rotary dial with stepless adjustment. Unlike a button that cycles through steps, it stops where you want it to. So after dinner I dim the warm light nearly all the way, push toward the 44-hour end, and leave this as the one lantern that stays on all night.
Key points
- Brightness × time is 126 × 6 = 756. That is higher than the same Yaden line's Hang Gauge Lantern at 639 (213 × 3) and lower than the Carrot Lantern's 1,040 (130 × 8)
- The battery is 2600mAh, 1.3 times the 2000mAh of the Hang Gauge Lantern and Carrot Lantern (2600 ÷ 2000). Charging takes about 3.5 hours
- It weighs about 370g, 2.3 times the Hang Gauge Lantern's about 160g. It is built to sit on a folding stand rather than hang and swing

When is the Thunder Lantern out? JPY 6,600
The Yaden Thunder Lantern went on sale on Aug 27, 2026 as a set of 2027 LOGOS models. The price is JPY 6,600 incl. tax, and you can already buy it.
It is a rechargeable lithium-ion type and needs no dry-cell batteries. The light is warm only, and you turn the dial to change brightness steplessly. Run time is about 6 to 44 hours, with an IPX4 protection rating.
How I judged it
Spending half the year in a tent, a lantern is a tool you light every night. So I look first at how many hours it lasts when dimmed, before the number at its brightest.
What I compared against was the same Yaden line's Hang Gauge Lantern. Brightness × time is 126 × 6 = 756 for the Thunder Lantern and 213 × 3 = 639 for the Hang Gauge Lantern. The Hang Gauge Lantern is higher at maximum brightness, but the Thunder Lantern is stronger at making the battery last. What I weighed was the weight of about 370g, but for a lantern you set down, I pick this one.

Differences from the Hang Gauge Lantern and Carrot Lantern
Scroll the table sideways →
| Model | Brightness (high) | Run time on high | Weight | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| LOGOS Yaden Thunder Lantern | 126lm | About 6 hours | About 370g | JPY 6,600 |
| LOGOS Yaden Hang Gauge Lantern | 213lm | About 3 hours | About 160g | JPY 3,980 |
| LOGOS Carrot Lantern | 130lm | About 8 hours | About 90g | JPY 2,970 |
| GENTOS EX-236D | 430lm | About 10 hours | About 355g | JPY 6,578 |
LOGOS gives two brightness figures. The LED bulb value is about 233 lumens and the LOGOS standard value is about 126 lumens, and I use the smaller one when lining it up with other companies.
If you want brightness at the same price and weight, the GENTOS EX-236D gives 430 lumens for about 10 hours. The reason to pick the Thunder Lantern is the warm light and being able to dim it with the dial, not the brightness number.
Who the Thunder Lantern suits
It suits people who want to dim a warm light and keep it on long on the table after dinner. The dial is stepless and stops where you want it. Dimmed, it can be pushed toward the 44-hour end, and the 2600mAh battery is 1.3 times the Hang Gauge Lantern's.
It needs no dry-cell batteries, so it can also be the one you keep at home as a blackout backup. If you want a backup that runs appliances, read the Jackery 1000 New V3 review too. To light the whole site, you could pair it with the bigger lights in our comparison of 12 LED lanterns, and for a small one to hang, the Hang Gauge Lantern review is a useful reference.

What I like: staying power, and a build that sits on the table
The brightness × time of 756 beats the same Yaden line's Hang Gauge Lantern at 639. It does not compete on maximum brightness but goes all in on keeping a warm light on long, and the longer the night, the more it shows.
It sets on the table with a folding stand, can also hang from the strap, and has an IPX4 protection rating. No need to stock dry-cell batteries, and charging directly by USB Type-C is welcome in a tool you light every night.
The weak points
Point 1: it is pricey for its brightness. Price per 1 lumen is 6,600 ÷ 126 = about JPY 52, 2.8 times the Hang Gauge Lantern's about JPY 19 (3,980 ÷ 213).
Point 2: the light color is warm only. For cooking, when you want white light to show your hands clearly, add another light.
Charging takes about 3.5 hours by USB Type-C (5V/1A). A tripod is sold separately, and commercially sold ones can be attached.
Size and accessories
In use it is about 13cm wide × 11cm deep × 19cm high, and folded it is 11cm in diameter × 15.5cm high. It sits on a folding stand and can also hang from the strap. The materials are ABS, steel and nylon, and a 1-year warranty is included.
Comparing by battery, charging 2600mAh in about 3.5 hours is about 743mAh per hour (2600 ÷ 3.5). That fills a little faster than the Hang Gauge Lantern's about 667mAh (2000 ÷ 3).
