If you will put a pot on the SOTO WindMaster SOD-311, buy the SOD-311GS set already on sale, which has 4-arm and 3-arm pot supports for the same JPY 9,350. The deciding point is only the pot supports; the body is 60g and 3.3kW, the same as the SOD-310. The standalone SOD-311 is "due autumn 2026," with the date undecided.
The Gear Nerd's Pick
All three bodies are 60g and 3.3kW, and only the pot supports on top changed. Camping more than half the year, what you put on a burner changes by the day, from a cup for boiling water to a pot. So I look at pot support width before body weight, and take the set that includes both 4-arm and 3-arm at the same price.
Key points
- Adding 3-arm pot supports (JPY 935) to the standalone later comes to JPY 10,285. The SOD-311GS set includes the same 2 kinds for JPY 9,350, which is JPY 935 lower
- The new 4-arm pot supports are about 22g. That matches the separately sold 27g model made 18.5% lighter. The folded volume is about 25% smaller than with the 3-arm pot supports
- Even with 4 arms, load capacity stays at 5kg. Weight in use rises from 67g to 82g, up 15g

The SOD-311 release is "due autumn 2026"
The new SOTO WindMaster, the SOD-311, is not on sale yet. The official page on Oct 14 shows "due autumn 2026" at JPY 9,350 incl. tax. It says the date will be announced once decided.
If you will put a pot on it, you need the 4-arm pot supports. If you only boil water in a cup, the SOD-310 with 3-arm pot supports is enough.
How I judged it
The first thing I looked at was the body. All 3 have a 60g body, 3.3kW of heat output and a price of JPY 9,350. Only the pot supports differ.
Next I turned the pot supports into price. 3-arm pot supports are sold separately at JPY 935, so adding them to the standalone comes to JPY 10,285. The set is limited to the first run, but at the same price you choose the 4-arm (82g) or the 3-arm (67g) by destination, so I recommend the set.

The only difference among the SOD-311, SOD-311GS and SOD-310 is the pot supports
| Item | SOD-311 (standalone) | SOD-311GS (set) | SOD-310 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Release | Due autumn 2026 | Apr 17, 2026 | Discontinued, while stocks last |
| Official price | JPY 9,350 | JPY 9,350 | JPY 9,350 |
| Pot supports included | 4 | 4-arm and 3-arm | 3-arm |
| Weight in use | 82g | 82g / 67g | 67g |
| Width × depth in use | 145×145mm | 145×145mm / 90×117mm | 90×117mm |
| Heat output | 3.3kW | 3.3kW | 3.3kW |
| Load capacity | 5kg | 5kg | 5kg |
The only difference between the standalone and the set is whether the 7g 3-arm pot supports are included. Seen from the SOD-310, weight in use rises by 15g (82 − 67), 22% in proportion (15 ÷ 67).
The gas can is sold separately, and the official compatible can is the SOD-725T (JPY 792).
The 4-arm pot supports are 5g lighter, and fold smaller
SOTO says it made the new 4-arm pot supports about 18.5% lighter than the separately sold 4-arm ones. The separately sold FourFlex SOD-460 is 27g, so 27 × (1 − 0.185) = 22.0g. That matches the official 22g.
Easy to overlook is packed size. Multiplying the official packed dimensions, the form with 4-arm supports attached is 5.5 × 5.7 × 8.9 = about 279cm³, and with 3-arm supports 4.7 × 9.0 × 8.8 = about 372cm³. The 4-arm is 25% smaller. The 3-arm form is deeper at 90mm.
The flame design is the same as the SOD-310, with a mortar-shaped burner head that keeps wind out. The micro regulator is a part that holds down the loss of output when the can gets cold, and at an outside temperature of −5°C the maker claims it boils in about half the time of a stove without it. The relation between what is in the can and the cold is in our article on CB and OD canisters.
| How to buy | Usable pot supports | Carried weight | Total price |
|---|---|---|---|
| SOD-311GS (set) | 4-arm and 3-arm | 89g | JPY 9,350 |
| SOD-311 + 3-arm pot supports SOD-461 | 4-arm and 3-arm | 89g | JPY 10,285 |
| SOD-310 + 4-arm pot supports SOD-460 | 4-arm and 3-arm | 94g | JPY 11,440 |
| SOD-311 (standalone) | 4 | 82g | JPY 9,350 |
| SOD-310 | 3-arm | 67g | JPY 9,350 |
If you want both kinds of pot supports, the set is the lowest. The reason to wait disappears here.
The weak points
Point 1 is weight. Because the 4-arm is now standard, weight per 1kW of heat output rises from 20.3g to 24.8g (82 ÷ 3.3). It is a step back for anyone trimming every gram.
Point 2 is that load capacity stays at 5kg even though the supports are wider. The weight you can place does not increase. Only the width supporting the bottom of the pot grows.
Who the 4-arm pot supports suit, and who is fine with 3 arms
- The SOD-311GS set: for people who put on both pots and cups. You can swap the 145mm-wide 4-arm and the light 7g 3-arm by destination.
- The standalone SOD-311: for people who will put on a pot and only need the 4-arm pot supports.
- The SOD-310: for people who only boil water in a cup or small pot and want the lightness of 67g.
The SOD-310 is on the list of discontinued items dated July 30 and is available while stocks last. Other new models are in our list of gear coming out.

Who is it for?
The best fit is someone who puts both pots and cups on it. The new 4-arm pot supports are about 18.5% lighter than the separately sold ones and fold 25% smaller. A well-thought-out redesign.
If you already use a SOD-310 with 4-arm pot supports added, the gap is 5g, so what you have is enough. If you will put two pots on at once, a two-burner stove is another way to choose.
