The UNIFLAME Fire Pit Pot 14cm Tsubo-gata suits people who hang a pot over a fire and simmer for 1–2 people. The deciding point is a depth that holds about 2L at a 15cm diameter, 0.3L more than the 18cm, and it takes about 30% less room over the fire. For gathering 3 or more around a pot, take the 26cm.
The Gear Nerd's Pick
A shallow pot widens its diameter as capacity grows. The Tsubo-gata gets its capacity from depth, so even at 2L the diameter stays 15cm. So for simmering for 1–2 people, this is the pot I put on the fire before the 18cm.
Key points
- The full capacity of about 2L is 0.3L more than the Fire Pit Pot 18cm, yet the top-down area is about 177cm², about 70% of the 18cm. Weights are almost the same, about 530g and about 540g
- Price per liter is JPY 2,475. It lines up with the 18cm's JPY 2,588, but is about 2 times the 26cm's JPY 1,222, which makes it poor value by capacity
- The official page says it also suits deep frying in size, but cautions against oil cooking over a fire. Deep frying is for gas or induction

The Fire Pit Pot 14cm Tsubo-gata goes on sale Sep 12. 2L at a 15cm diameter
The UNIFLAME Fire Pit Pot 14cm Tsubo-gata went on sale on Sep 12, 2026 at JPY 4,950 incl. tax.
Until now the Fire Pit Pot came in 18cm, 26cm and 30cm, all shallow. The Tsubo-gata is about 16.5cm tall against a maximum diameter of about 15cm. It is the only one of the 4 whose height exceeds its diameter.
How I judged it
The first thing I looked at was the combination of about 15cm diameter and about 2L full capacity. Against the 18cm, capacity is 0.3L more, yet the top-down area is about 30% smaller.
What I weighed was the price. It is JPY 550 more than the 18cm, and about 2 times the 26cm per liter. Still, I recommend it for 1–2 people because it takes the smallest space over the fire of the 4, and it works on a home induction stove.

| Model | Diameter × height | Weight | Full capacity | Official price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 14cm Tsubo-gata | Max about 15 × 16.5cm | About 530g | About 2L | JPY 4,950 |
| 18cm | About 18 × 8cm | About 540g | About 1.7L | JPY 4,400 |
| 26cm | About 26 × 12cm | About 950g | About 4.5L | JPY 5,500 |
| 30cm | About 30.5 × 12cm | About 1.1kg | About 6L | JPY 7,260 |
The 18cm and the Tsubo-gata differ by only 10g in weight. The outer width of the bail handle is also about 17cm on the Tsubo-gata against about 21cm on the 18cm.
How the Tsubo-gata works | on the same fire, it takes less room
A pot's top-down area is radius × radius × 3.14. The Tsubo-gata is 7.5 × 7.5 × 3.14 = about 177cm² and the 18cm is 9 × 9 × 3.14 = about 254cm². The Tsubo-gata is about 70% of the 18cm (177 ÷ 254).
This pot is based on a home multi-pot, with a bail handle added for use over a fire. The dishes that suit it are simmered dishes, skewers and deep frying for 1–2 people. All of them need depth more than width, so its role is split from the 18cm at about 8cm high.
Spending more than half the year camping, space over the fire is always short. So when I look at a pot, I look at diameter before capacity. At a 15cm diameter, there is still room beside it for another kettle. The long side of a fire pit is in the table in our article on 12 fire pits.
Tsubo-gata vs 18cm and 26cm: which to choose
Scroll the table sideways →
| Model | Weight per liter | Price per liter | Top-down area | Lid |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 14cm Tsubo-gata | 265g | JPY 2,475 | About 177cm² | Stainless steel (knob is natural wood) |
| 18cm | 318g | JPY 2,588 | About 254cm² | Natural wood |
| 26cm | 211g | JPY 1,222 | About 531cm² | Natural wood |
- For simmering or soup for 1–2 people, the Tsubo-gata. It is 53g lighter per liter than the 18cm and does not take space over the fire.
- For one person eating straight from a shallow pot, the 18cm. The official page also calls it a "solo size."
- For hotpot for 3–4 people, the 26cm. The official page calls it a "family size," and its capacity is 2.25 times the Tsubo-gata's (4.5 ÷ 2).

The weak points
Point 1 is price. JPY 2,475 per liter is about 2 times the 26cm's JPY 1,222. Add JPY 550 and you can buy the 4.5L 26cm, so it is poor value for anyone who expects more people.
Point 2 is deep frying. It is a size that suits deep frying, but flame can ignite oil, so avoid oil cooking such as deep frying over a fire. One of the three dishes it suits is done on gas or induction.
What else you need, and what's sold separately
To hang it, you need a tripod separately. The official features go only as far as "can be hung from a tripod"; the hanging gear is a separate product.
Dedicated cases exist officially for the 18cm and 26cm. The Tsubo-gata is about twice the height of the 18cm (16.5 ÷ 8), so measure the depth of the box you store it in first.
Where to set the pot after taking it off the fire is in the fire pit table review, and how to collect pots as a set is in our ranking of cooker sets.

Who is it for?
The best fit is someone who hangs a pot for 1–2 people and makes simmered dishes and soup. It holds about 2L at a 15cm diameter and leaves room for a kettle beside it. A new model with a clever shape that earns its capacity from depth.
For 3 or more around a pot, the roughly 4.5L 26cm is another way to choose. Enjoy deep-fried food on gas or induction.
