The WAQ AIR VISTA is a large air-supported shelter you can get for under JPY 100,000. It went on sale on Apr 15, 2026, and after the first lot sold out, sales of the 2nd lot began in late August. It is JPY 99,000 incl. tax, about 560 × 380 × 230cm, and stands in about 10 minutes with the included pump.
The Gear Nerd's Pick
The AIR VISTA is a shelter whose tension comes from air columns of 12cm inner diameter, molded in one piece, plus two reinforcing aluminum poles on the sides. It is built to take both the ease of air and the firmness of poles. That is why I want families who need a big living space under JPY 100,000, set up in a short time, to look at this first.
Key points
- The price is JPY 99,000, the most affordable of the large air tents of 2026. About JPY 4,652 per ㎡ of floor (1㎡)
- There are doorways in four directions, and it switches from 360° mesh to fully open. The maximum interior height is about 200cm
- The bedroom is made with a separately sold dedicated inner tent (JPY 19,800). The body and inner set is JPY 113,800

When did the WAQ AIR VISTA come out? How much is it?
It went on sale on Apr 15, 2026, at WAQ's official online store. The first lot sold out in both Black and Coyote, and sales of the 2nd lot began in late Aug. The price is JPY 99,000 incl. tax.
It is WAQ's first air tent, one that skipped a 2025 release and took about a year of prototypes to come out. If you sleep in a tent more than half the year, striking in the rain is unavoidable. So with big tents I look at the hassle of packing up before setup time. With an air tent, the columns go soft when you let the air out, and that is where they differ.
How I judged it
First I compared prices. Many large air tents that came out in 2026 cost over JPY 100,000, and Snow Peak's Aerocamurashell is JPY 242,000. The AIR VISTA is about 40% of that.
What I wavered on was that no bedroom comes with it. I still recommend it because even adding the separately sold inner, it is JPY 113,800, and you get a wide living space and doorways in four directions. It suits families who want to spend more time under a big roof.

AIR VISTA specs
| Item | WAQ's listing |
|---|---|
| Release date | Apr 15, 2026 (2nd lot in late Aug) |
| Price (incl. tax) | JPY 99,000 |
| Size in use | About 560 × 380 × 230cm (maximum interior height about 200cm) |
| Packed size | About 71 × 32 × 32cm |
| Weight | Body about 12.5kg, carry bag about 1.2kg, reinforcing poles about 2.2kg |
| Fabric / waterproof rating | 210T polyester ripstop, 2,600mm, UPF30+ |
| Accessories | 2 reinforcing poles, 14 pegs, 8 ropes, dedicated pump, ground sheet, carry bag |
Adding the weights gives 12.5 + 1.2 + 2.2 = 15.9kg. The packed volume is 71 × 32 × 32 = about 72.7L, about 30% smaller than the Deka Kinoko Tent Air's about 101L.
How it differs from other large air tents
Scroll the table sideways →
| Model | Price (incl. tax) | Weight | Packed volume | Waterproof rating |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| WAQ AIR VISTA | JPY 99,000 | About 15.9kg (body, bag, poles) | About 72.7L | 2,600mm |
| DOD Deka Kinoko Tent Air | JPY 129,800 | About 18.2kg | About 101.1L | 3,000mm (minimum) |
| Snow Peak Aero Cumulus Shell | JPY 242,000 | About 24kg (with pump) | About 143L | 1,500mm or more |
Of the three tents, the AIR VISTA has the smallest numbers in price, weight and packed size. Split it this way and you will not hesitate: the Deka Kinoko Tent Air for a family of six that wants the bedroom in one tent, the AIR VISTA if you want a wide living space and are fine adding a bedroom. The Deka Kinoko Tent Air's numbers are in the Deka Kinoko Tent Air review.
What I like
The air columns are thick. The main frame is a molded one-piece TPU with an inner diameter of 12cm, and the fabric is 0.3mm thick. The maker pitches it as resistant to scuffing and bending. It also comes with a safety valve that releases pressure automatically at 7PSI or above, and a repair kit for the TPU.
You can open and close it to suit the view. There are doorways front, back, left and right, switching from 360° mesh to fully open. One tent can do both: let wind through with the mesh in summer, close it to stop wind in spring and autumn.
A ground sheet is included. It is something often sold separately with large tents, and here it is in the box from the start.
One more note: the fabric's waterproof rating is 2,600mm. If you will pitch in the middle of autumn rains or the long rains of the rainy season, it is reassuring to read the tent waterproof rating article on how to read the numbers.
How do you make the bedroom?
The dedicated inner tent is sold separately at JPY 19,800. The set with the body is JPY 113,800, which is JPY 5,000 less than buying them separately (99,000 + 19,800 − 113,800). Price per ㎡ of floor, dividing by the in-use size, is 99,000 ÷ 21.28 = about JPY 4,652.
If you sleep on cots side by side, you can also use it as a shelter without buying the inner.

Who is it for?
It suits families and groups of 4 to 6 who want to gather under a big roof. With four doorways and mesh switching, you can let wind through in summer and close it up in spring and autumn.
If you mostly camp solo or as a pair, there is also a smaller tent. I put smaller air tents in the LOGOS Air Magic W Cross Dome M review.
